She never returned. In Iran Maryam has surveillance cameras installed throughout the house where her parents still live; a flickering connection to the past, projected on a screen in her American home. When the Internet in Iran goes down and the images freeze or fade away, Maryam’s connection to her homeland is severed. Morteza Ahmadvand is a Tehran-based multimedia artist and filmmaker, born in Khorramabad, Iran. He holds a Master’s degree in Painting from Tehran University. Trained in painting and sculpture, his practice has evolved into video art and installations, keeping visible traces of his painting origins. Over the past decade, his work has explored the intersection of visual art and film, addressing themes such as identity, memory and cultural coexistence.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=”280309″]Firouzeh Khosrovani<\/strong><\/p>\n

Firouzeh Khosrovani, born in Tehran, graduated from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, Milan, in 2002. Back in Iran, she earned a Master’s degree in Journalism and collaborated with several Italian newspapers and magazines. Her journey in documentary filmmaking began in 2004 with Life Train<\/em>.
