Aurora’s Sunrise

Inna Sahakyan / Armenia, Germany, Lithuania / 2022 / 96′ / Armenian | Italian subtitles

Just 14 years old, Aurora lost everything during the horror of the Armenian genocide. Two years later, through luck and extraordinary courage, she managed to escape to New York, where her story became a media phenomenon. Acting as herself in Auction of Souls, one of the first Hollywood blockbusters, Aurora becomes the face of one of the biggest charity campaigns in American history.
Featuring a mixture of vivid animation, interviews with Aurora herself, and 18 minutes of surviving footage from her lost silent epic, Aurora’s Sunriserevives a forgotten story of survival.
