A testimony with largely unpublished video and audio material on the last days of Enrico Berlinguer’s life 40 years after his death. An emotional narration constructed with the sole use of repertoire, the result of three years of research, to offer an unpublished perspective on the last moments of the PCI secretary’s life: from the illness during the rally in Padua, to his death four days later in hospital, on 11th June 1984, up to the imposing funeral held in Piazza San Giovanni in Rome on 13th June.

Samuele Rossi
His career alternates between fiction and documentary.
Among his works are Glassboy (ECFA Award 2021, sold in over 40 countries worldwide), La memoria degli ultimi (Best International Documentary Marfici 2014), Indro. L’uomo che scriveva sull’acqua (shortlist Nastri d’Argento 2017), Margherita. La Voce delle stelle (Special Event at the International Festival dei Popoli 2022), and Prima della fine. Gli ultimi giorni di Enrico Berlinguer (Cinquina at Nastri d’Argento 2025 – Cinema del Reale, Short-list David di Donatello 2025).
He is the founder and CEO of Echivisivi, a cultural project where the passion for cinema is at the heart of every production process. From 2018 to 2023, he was part of the Board of Directors of the International Festival dei Popoli. Since 2015, he has been involved in education in schools with the aim of contributing to a new awareness of the image.
