Ekbatana
Simon Dickel, Werner Müller / Germany / 2025 / 13′
Ekbatana is a montage of previously unseen Super8 films depicting artwork, demolished buildings, and squatting in West Berlin, archived since 1982. The silent scenes are accompanied by a sound collage.AI provides seemingly accurate information about the political and cultural ties between the former city of Ekbatana and West Berlin in the 1980s. At the same time, the film can be seen as a posthumous tribute to the young artist Gerhard Faulhaber.
