Lloyd Wong, Unfinished

Lesley Loksi Chan / Canada / 2025 / 29′

In the early 1990s, Lloyd Wong began work on a play based on his experience living with AIDS in Toronto, but died before he could complete it. For three decades, his unfinished work, considered long lost, has resurfaced at The ArQuives. In this experimental documentary, Lesley Loksi Chan combines footage of Lloyd Wong with fragments of his research notes to reflect on the significance of inheritance of images from queer communities and the attempt to understand someone through multiple interpretations. Raw and unprocessed, this film explores the meaning of incompleteness.
