I knew myself in a dream

Io mi sono conosciuto nel sogno / Filippo Ticozzi / Italy / 2025 / 20′

Guido Morselli is among the most visionary and complex writers of the Italian twentieth century. Lonely and far from the culture of his time, he was never understood. He took his own life with a revolver in 1973. All his work was published posthumously, revealing prophetic texts with a highly personal style. Between 1952 and 1960 he became involved in amateur filmmaking, shooting much 8mm material, hitherto unpublished. This film aims to investigate the writer’s thought by relating the audiovisual materials with Guido Morselli’s most personal texts: the Diaries and Dissipatio H. G.
The result is a hallucinatory journey into the depths of an artist who reveals the abyss that lurks around us.
