The panel aims to offer an opportunity for historical and theoretical exchange and insight towards the relationships between archival reuse and animation cinema. By bringing together documentary film scholars, animation historians, and experts in artists’ and experimental cinema, the meeting aims to open a dialogue between heterogeneous interpretive perspectives that stand in dialogue with the poetics of contemporary filmmakers, animators and visual artists.
