Live Performance
Postcards from Italy
Nicolò Bottasso (violins, live visuals), Simone Bottasso (accordion, live eletronics)
In collaboration with Università di Roma Tor Vergata
In 2023, the Bottasso brothers traveled by train through present-day Italy, retracing the routes of early filmmakers and returning to the exact places captured on film a hundred years ago. There they recorded the sounds of the present and collaborated with Italian sound archives to recover accounts of workers and communities from that era. The result is a living score that interweaves field recordings, live music and archival testimonies, transforming rare silent films into a timely and necessary immersive experience.
LIVE ALCAZAR – May 31, 10 p.m.
