Laura Samani

Laura Samani was born in 1989 in Trieste. After graduating in Philosophy and Literature at the University of Pisa, he studied directing at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (Rome). His diploma short film, The Sleeping Saint, premiered at Cannes Cinéfondation in 2016. Since then, it has won acclaim and awards at various international festivals. In 2018 she worked for the Maremetraggio Association, conducting the participatory video workshop Visible City, funded by Siae Bando Sillumina ‐ Urban Periferie di Valmaura, Trieste. It is the first workshop of its kind ever conducted in Trieste, it involved adolescents living in social marginalization with the aim of making a self-narrative documentary. Piccolo corpo, an hard fairytale, is his first feature film shot in Friuli Venezia Giulia and Veneto.
