Some Accidents
Sinistri / Salvatore Insana / Italy / 6’ / 2024
Collisions, between bodies, images, imaginaries. Clashes between frames, subjects and epochs. Contacts, whether real or false. In search of that physical, organic, material osmosis. Sinister are the beings who deal with accidents?

Salvatore Insana
Salvatore Insana pursues his research among moving images, photography and other forms of revision and erosion of the imaginary, struggling on the threshold between visual lyricism, dissolution of the most didactic horizon of events and recombination of linguistic codes and structures.
In 2011 he created with Elisa Turco Liveri, choreographer and performer, the Dehors/Audela collective, working from the beginning on the investigation of borderline places, where hybrid and indefinite manifest themselves and giving life to given, in the constant attempt to overcome genres, to video-theatrical works, dance performances, audiovisual research projects, experimental documentaries, video dance works and experimental workshops. In parallel, Salvatore Insana carries out an intense research and production activity within the audiovisual arts, including video art, experimental cinema, visual anthropology, photography and multimedia installations. He has collaborated, for the creation of audiovisual works and live audiovisual concerts, with numerous musicians and sound artists, including Edison Studio, Simone Pappalardo, Giulia Vismara, Fabio Cifariello Ciardi, Jacob Kirkegaard, Ghedalia Tazartes, Silvia Cignoli, Caterina Palazzi, Francesca Sortino, Girolamo Deraco, Nicola Sergio.
His works have been presented within numerous festivals and multidisciplinary exhibition events in Italy and in more than thirty other countries.
